Statement of intent
Music video
For my music video i wish to create a happy, excitable and fun loving atmosphere for my viewers. My demographic will target 16-25 year olds who enjoy listening to pop music. This is very mass market and i will hope to express a happy mood however there will also be a disruption in the equilibrium but it does reach equilibrium once again at the end, this will apply Todorov's theory. I will use mise en scene in rural areas to connote freedom and create an active representation which will be further backed up by the stylish yet vibrant clothing which will aim to show anti-stereotypes. The narrative reflects this in that the female in the relationship is the empowered character who demonstrates masculine traits in the way she pursues the male character. I believe all the fashion and locations used will be relate able to my target audience of fun loving 16-25 year olds therefore offering personal identity. I intend to use two social groups of male and female which will fit the demographics of the audience; this is so that the audience can understand the people in the music video and potentially join in. My editing will  coincide with the beat to reflect Goodwin's music video conventions and my video will be performance based with a slight narrative to really represent the song. There will also be montage to reflect music video conventions and imply new equilibrium when the relationship is successful. The performance will still be done by the male character so the representation doesn't alienate a mass market audience and still targets my demographic.
Website
For my website, i wish to include all of the appropriate conventions of website design by displaying a prominent logo, and showing off the band. On the home page, i will make sure the name of my artists is clear and that is where the music video will be accessible. Below the music video, i will include other website conventions such as tour dates which will be important to both my artist and Sony to create a bigger and more diverse fan base. On the second page of the website will be where there is information about the artist. As well as having information on the artist, i will show photos of the artists and perhaps a behind the scenes of filming the video which will not only be entertaining for my audience to watch, but also give them an incite on how it was all created. On the menu bar, there will be options for 'home', 'information' 'videos', 'photos' and a 'store'. The only pages that will contain my work and media language will be the home and information page because they will be the two i wish to be marked on. Not only this, but on all pages my logo will be clearly displayed as well as all social media. The social media will be able to be accessed to provide and interactive side to my website for fans. The social media will encourage my target demographic to use the website because 16-25 year olds are likely to be on these apps and furthermore i will provide links on the social media to the website so its easy to reach for the mass market.

To show a strong link between the production of my website and the production of my music video, i will make sure my clear and professional logos are displayed on all of my pages on my website and certainly at the beginning of my music video. It is important to show that the artist is signed by Sony to promote them but also to let viewers know that my artist is a big artist. My artists own logos will also be important to show because it shows Sony doesn't completely control my artist and they can still express their individuality. The artist will also be very clearly displayed in the music video and photos will also be displayed. Finally, the interconnection of the video and the website will be clearly displayed because there will be a link to the video on the home page of the website.
